Mitä mieltä olette NIV:sta?
Sain sen yhdeltä sisarelta ja ajattelin nyt lukaista.
En ole aiemmin tuota käännöstä käyttänyt, vaan englanniksi vain King Jamesia.

Tuli tässä mieleen taas tätä NIV-käännöstä lukiessani, miten tärkeää on saada lukea Raamattua omalla äidinkielellään. Vaikka minulla on mielestäni vahva englanti, niin kuitenkaan teksti ei tunnu yhtä vahvalta kuin suomeksi luettuna. Suomeksi lukiessani esim. kertomus Johannes Kastajan päästä lautasella tuntuu niin hirveältä, että haluan ohittaa kohdan nopeasti ajattelematta. Englanniksi kohta tuntui paljon laimeammalta.

Eräs julistaja käytti NIV:tä ja itse pidin mahdottomana seurata sitä minkään sanatarkemman käännöksen kanssa.

Todella helppolukuinenhan tuo on verrattuna vaikka johonkin King jamesiin.

NIV on huono käännös, samaa sarjaa kuin suomenkielinen 1992.

Kehotan pysymään King Jamesissa.

Sivustolla sanotaan mm näin:

"[NIV] corrupts, omits, weakens and changes God's inspired word."

NIV-käännös vääristelee Jumalan Sanaa, poistaa osia Jumalan Sanasta, heikentää Jumalan Sanaa ja muuttaa Jumalan Sanaa.

NIV-käännöksessä elämän kirja on muutettu elämän puuksi.

NIV kieltää Jeesuksen Jumaluuden:

1 Timothy 3:16 (NIV) Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

KJV: "God was manifest in the flesh"

NIV: "He appeared in a body"

Teksti on kuitenkin helppolukuinen ja sen avulla voi petrata sanastoaan liittyen hengellisiin asioihin.

En tiedä miksi noissa kohdin NIV:ssä ei ole samoja juttuja kuin KJ:ssä. Kuitenkin muissa kohdin myös NIV:ssä tuodaan esiin parannuksen teon välttämättömyys. Siis parannuksen tekoa ei ole NIV-käännöksessä pyyhitty pois. Olen vasta roomalaiskirjeessä kylläkin lukemassa.
