Eräs mies opettaa että "The Torah is the Law, commonly known as the first five books of the Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.”
suomennettuna: ”toora on laki, yleisesti tiedetty ensimmäisenä viitenä vanhan testamentin kirjana: genesis [1.moos.] , exodus [2. moos.] , leviticus [3.moos.]
[matt. 7:12]
sillä ette ole alla tooran vaan alla sulouden
[kirjeestä room. 6:14]
mutta nyt lakkautettiin-meidät irti toorasta kuolleina in which we were held, so that we may serve in newness of spirit, and not in oldness of letter.
[kirjeestä room 7:6, lauseen loppuosa ylt käännöksestä]
rakkaus ei tee lähimmäiselle mitään pahaa. sen tähden rakkaus on tooran täyttymys
[room. 13:10, raamattu kansalle käännös, muutettu sana toora]
Mutta ennenkuin usko tuli, alla tooran vartioitiin meitä shut up to the faith about to be revealed
Niinmuodoin toora tuli kasvattajaksemme messiaaseen, että uskosta vanhurskautettaisiin meidät, mutta uskon tultua me emme enää ole kasvattajan alla.
[gal. 3:23-25 vuoden 1938 käännös hieman korjattuna, ja osa ylt käännöksestä ]
and if by the spirit you are led, you are not under torah .
[gal 5:18]
And having come to jerusalem, they were received by the assembly, and the apostles, and the elders, they declared also as many things as elohim did with them;
and there rose up certain of those of the sect of the pharisees who believed, saying -- `It behoveth to circumcise them, to command them also to keep the torah of moses.
And there were gathered together the apostles and the elders, to see about this matter,
and there having been much disputing, peter having risen up said unto them, `Men, brethren, you know that from former days, elohim among us did make choice, through my mouth, for the nations to hear the word of the good news, and to believe
and the heart-knowing elohim did bare them testimony, having given to them the holy spirit, even as also to us,
and did put no difference also between us and them, by the faith having purified their hearts;
now, therefore, why do you tempt elohim, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
but, through the grace of the lord yahuwšu'a messiah, we believe to be delivered, even as also they.'
And all the multitude did keep silence, and were hearkening to barnabas and paul, declaring as many signs and wonders as elohim did among the nations through them;
and after they are silent, james answered, saying, `Men, brethren, hearken to me
simeon did declare how at first elohim did look after to take out of the nations a people for his name,
and to this agree the words of the prophets, as it hath been written:
After these things I will turn back, and I will build again the tabernacle of david, that is fallen down, and its ruins I will build again, and will set it upright
that the residue of men may seek after the lord, and all the nations, upon whom my name hath been called, saith yhwh, who is doing all these things.
Known from the ages to elohim are all his works;
wherefore I judge: not to trouble those who from the nations do turn back to elohim
but to write to them to abstain from the pollutions of the idols, and the fornication, and the strangled thing; and the blood;
for moses from former generations in every city hath those preaching him -- in the synagogues every sabbath being read.'
Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly, chosen men out of themselves to send to antioch with paul and barnabas -- judas surnamed barsabas, and silas, leading men among the brethren --
having written through their hand thus: `The apostles, and the elders, and the brethren, to those in antioch, and syria, and cilicia, brethren, who [are] of the nations, greeting;
seeing we have heard that certain having gone forth from us did trouble you with words, subverting your souls, saying to be circumcised and to keep the torah , to whom we did give no charge,
it seemed good to us, having come together with one accord, chosen men to send unto you, with our beloved barnabas and paul -- men who have given up their lives for the name of our lord yahuwšu'a messiah--
we have sent, therefore, judas and silas, and they by word are telling the same things.
`For it seemed good to the holy spirit, and to us, no more burden to lay upon you, except these necessary things:
to abstain from things offered to idols, and blood, and a strangled thing, and fornication; from which keeping yourselves, you shall do well, fare you well.
They then, indeed, having been let go, went to antioch, and having brought the multitude together, did deliver the epistle and they having read, did rejoice for the consolation;
Acts 15:4-31, apt 15:4-31
...you seest, brother, how many myriads there are of jews who have believed, and all are zealous of the torah
and they are instructed concerning thee, that apostacy from moses thou dost teach to all jews among the nations, saying -- Not to circumcise the children, nor after the customs to walk;
what then is it? certainly the multitude it behoveth to come together, for they will hear that you hast come
This, therefore, do that we say to you: we have four men having a vow on themselves
these having taken, be purified with them, and be at expence with them, that they may shave the head, and all may know that the things of which they have been instructed concerning you are nothing, but thou dost walk -- yourself also -- the torah keeping
'And concerning those of the nations who have believed, we have written, having given judgment, that they observe no such thing, except to keep themselves both from idol-sacrifices, and blood, and a strangled thing, and fornication.'
Then paul, having taken the men, on the following day, with them having purified himself, was entering into the temple, announcing the fulfilment of the days of the purification, till the offering was offered for each one of them.
[Acts 21:20-26, apt 21:20-26] [huomauttaisin että jakeesta apt 21:25 puuttuu suomalaisesta vuoden 1938 käännöksestä sanat "ei mitään tällaista pitää heidän", byzanttilaisessa tekstissä on sanat μηδὲν τοιοῦτον τηρεῖν αὐτούς , jotka puuttuvat siitä tekstistä josta suomalainen vuoden 1938 käännös on käännetty.]
apt. 21:25 lauseen loppuosa ... ei mitään tällaista pitää heidän paitsi varjella itsensä epäelohimin-uhreista ja verestä ja tukehtuneesta ja haureudesta
